Katsh (b 1908) , a rabbi's son, was born in Poland and emigrated to the US in 1925. He started teaching at NYU in 1933, and later taught Hebrew language, literature, and culture, and became the director of the Institute of Hebrew Studies there in 1962. Five years later, he became president of Dropsie College. He also founded the National Association of Professors of Hebrew in American Universities in 1957.(EJ) Tears on ends of spine, corners of front cover creased, occasional underlining, good condition.
