Born in Berlin, Kahane settled in Erez Israel in 1938 and was director of the museum section of the Israel Department of Antiquities. From 1965 to 1969 he was chief curator of the Samuel Bronfman Biblical and Archaeological Museum at the Israel Museum, Jerusalem. He also organized several archaeological museums in Israel. His special field of study was ancient pottery and glass. He served as the Encyclopaedia Judaica departmental editor for Jews in archaeology. ”(EJ) Ex library, some pages loose, good condition.
