In Hebrew. “On the life and customs of the Jews of China. ” Following a petition to American President McKinley for a permit to tour China to research the roots and customs of the Chinese Jews, Uziel Haga accompanied the U. S. Armed Forces on an expedition in 1901. Haga present here a comprehensive description of Chinese life and customs, including a prayer for recitation during the Seven Days of Mourning. The Author maintains that the Jews of Kaifeng in Hunan Province are descendants of the exiled Ten Lost Tribes – most particularly, the Tribe of Asher.
