This exhibition was the second major show of contemporary needlework ever to be mounted in the United States. It brought together 120 works by some 60 Jewish and non-Jewish fiber artists. Guest curator Ita Aber selected works that ranged from traditional embroidery of ritualistic objects, such as Torah mantles and ark curtains, to abstract three-dimensional pieces.
