Rabbi Gedaliah (George) Silverstone was a popular American Orthodox homilist of the early 20th century, largely supporting himself on books of sermons such as this one. Silverstone, a fierce Orthodox polemicist and Zionist, begins this volume with a sermon “Against the Reform”, in response to the anti-Balfour Declaration that Reform rabbis had dispatched to Woodrow Wilson.
