Title translates to “Rabbi Meir ben Baruch from Rothenburg: His Life and Work, His Fate and Writings; a Memorial to the Six Hundredth Anniversary of His Death. ” Divided into multiple chapters. Very extensive footnotes. Rabbi Meir ben Baruch of Rothenburg “was a German Rabbi and poet, a major author of the tosafot on Rashi’s commentary on the Talmud. He is also known as Meir ben Baruch, the Maharam of Rothenburg” (Wikipedia, 2016) . He lived from about 1215-1293, and although he did not write a major work, he wrote “many notes, commentaries, expositions, and poems-as well as 1, 500 responsa. His disciple the Rosh (Rabbi Asher ben Jehiel) codified much of his teaching” (Wikipedia, 2016) . Blue marbled foredge. SUBJECT(S) : Rabbi Meir ben Baruch, Rabbinic Literature.
