Title translates into English as, “The Jews in Babylonia 200-500.” This was Solomon Schechter’s copy of the first volume of Funk’s work, with posthumous gift bookplate indicating such. “FUNK, SOLOMON (1867–1928) , rabbi and scholar. Funk was born in Hungary and served as rabbi at Sarajevo, Bosnia, Boskovice, Czechoslovakia, and in Vienna. ” (Jewish Virtual Library, 2017) . SUBJECT(S) : Jews -- History -- Iraq – Babylonia.
