Title translates to “Jewish Law: Science Quarterly. ” A fascinating Zionist Hebrew journal from the early Soviet period providing insight into the rarely discussed topic of the Jewish legal revival movement that occurred in Palestine during the British Mandate. It deals with practical, modern applications of Jewish law that were, no doubt, highly influential on the development of law in modern Israel. Dikshtein was a leading advocate of creating a legal system based on Jewish law, but fit for statehood. (Likhovski, 2006) . He was a practicing lawyer in Europe before emigrating to Palestine.
