Cohon was already an accomplished rabbi when he arrived in America in 1911, where he went on to work in Memphis and then, citing his desire to get his children a Jewish education, moving to the Bronx in New York. For his thoughts on the south, see page 48. Most of the subscribers listed lived in various cities in Texas and the rest lived in Nebraska, Oklahoma, Virginia, Milwaukee, Kentucky, Pittsburgh and New York.
