Kolnik on cover of issue of 1949, #2-3.Kiyum was a Yiddish monthly started by survivors in Paris, running 1948-1960; Succeeded by “Unzer kiyum.” Writing in 1952 about the Jewish periodicals in France over the preceding year, the American Jewish Year Book noted, "Particularly worthy of note was Kiyoum ("Existence"), a Yiddish monthly published by the Federation des Societes Juives de France, under the editorship of Israel Jefroykim. This magazine, which devoted its pages to the problems of continuity and creativity in Jewish life, had become one of the best of the serious magazines in Yiddish."
