Uris, then 20 years old, under the heading "This Is My War -- Personally" on page 223. This is Uris' first published work -- five years later, he sold his first story to Esquire. Most letters are illustrated with small black and white photo of the soldier. Damp stain at front hinge, extending to spine, which is slightly cocked. Previous owner's name on blank front pastedown, Otherwise Good solid attractive condition. Rare. (holo2-122-39).
