Published just as the war in Europe was ending and immediately after the liberation of Buchenwald by American forces April 11, 1945, this 8 page report, presented by the Prime Minister Winston Churchill and others to the British Parliament, describes what was found when, nine days later, a delegation of British Parliamentarians were sent by Winston Churchill to “have ocular and first-hand proof of (the) atrocities.” The delegates’ report closes: “We have endevoured to write with restraint and objectivity…(however) the memory of what we saw and heard at Buchenwald will haunt us ineffaceably for many years.”Includes many details of prisoner prisoner demographics and prisoner treatment by the Germans. Included are details of the hanging of Hitler in effigy in the camp, description of concentration camp monetary scrip prisoners could earn for working at the munitions factory, and the use of women as prostitutes.
