Rabbi Aaron Asher Green was born on 18th September 1860, in Goodman's Fields in the East End of London. He was the editor of the "The Jews' College Journal" while attending the college there, and became the minister of the Hampstead Synagogue in England in 1892 until his retirement in 1930. During his career he also held the office of Chairman of the Soldiers and Sailors Dependants' Committee set up after the First World War in the East End, and was Chief Officiating Clergyman to Jewish soldiers in the UK. Rev. Green wrote a number of historic and religious papers which were printed in The Jewish Chronicle, and edited his own version of the Haggadah. He died in 1933. SUBJECT(S): Haggadot -- Texts.
