1946. British Soldier Guards Jailed Jews in Tel Aviv
British soldier stands guard with a machine gun over Jews out for some air in their compound here. These Jews were jailed following house to house search for arms conducted by British here after Jewsi underground kidnapped three British aofficers. Thouse found concealing arms were jailed.

HAIFA, PALESTINE: Representatives of the International Red Cross and the Jewish Army check the number of Arab women and children starting on a three-mile hike through no-man’s land to the Arab lines in Tulkarim. Thgey were among more than 1500 Arab refugees who were given safe conduct from a non-combatant village near Haifa, where food and quarters could not be provided….

Now that more than 15,000 young Palestine Jews have already joined the British Forces, the immense task fo settlement in Palestin has been taken over by women and young men trained in schools supported by the United Palestine Appeal. Women have taken the places of men in industry, agriculture and in every field of activity, including the technical services of the Army.
